Women's Lunch Place

67 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02116

Offering a hot meal and a safe space for women since 1982, The Women's Lunch Place serves over 100,000 meals to roughly 1,500 self-identifying women annually. This year, 5-6 Andover volunteers are needed to serve as Meal Program Assistants, to support kitchen staff with food preparation, serving meals, and clean-up.

Specific responsibilities include:
Assist in prepping and cooking meals
Help keep kitchen clean and organized
Retrieve and lift food supplies from fridge or pantry
Unpack, sort, and inspect deliveries
Run dishwasher and put dishes/pots away
Help prepare to-go boxes of meals

Dress Code: Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and a shirt with sleeves (short sleeves are fine, no tank tops). Volunteers must also have their hair pulled back and wear a hat or hairnet. We have both on site but volunteers can also bring their own if they prefer. Masks are optional. We have a closet where volunteers can leave their belongings as well. Volunteers will also be able to take breaks and have lunch (provided) as well.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, or 16 years with parental consent. Volunteers must also be vaccinated against Covid-19, and will need to sign a liability-waiver. This waiver will be sent in the confirmation email.
